Cattle Manager

Location: Opportunities available in the surrounding areas of Southwestern Kansas and the Texas Panhandle

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Oversee cattle shipment/ receiving schedules
  • Ensure completion of all receiving records and records related to
  • Oversee the cattle processing team
  • Ensure cattle are properly processed upon arrival at the feedyard
  • Oversee night receiving team, communicate all incoming deliveries, outgoing shipments
  • Diagnose and treat cattle according to proper protocols
  • Communicate with the Feed Manager
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, HACCP, and other safety procedures, rules and regulations
  • Ensure compliance with company animal handling/welfare policy
  • Direct and train employees as necessary on humane handling
  • Maintain medicine inventory; reconcile and order as needed

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 5 years working in a feedyard
  • Minimum 2 years of management experience
  • College degree in an agriculture related field (preferred, but not required)
  • Must be willing to relocate to assigned feedyard (required)
  • Proficient of OSHA and HACCP guidelines and regulations
  • Strong leadership and communication skills
