 Job Description: 

Cactus Feedyard is actively looking for a pen rider to join our team in Cactus, Texas. Join the industry leader and apply today!

 Job Responsibilities:

• Receiving and checking in cattle (weighing cattle and getting a head count off of the truck
• Placement of cattle in pens
• Checking and caring for the health of cattle
• Processing cattle
• Maintenance and repair of facilities
• Sorting and shipping of cattle
• Must be able to ride a horse and work on foot
• Other duties as assigned

 Qualifications: 

• Education - High school, GED or equivalent (Preferred, but not required)
• 1-2 years of experience in a feedyard, growyard, or cow-calf operation. Other agriculture related work experience will be considered. 
• Provide a driver's license
• Pen Riders must provide their own horse(s) and tack

Work Environment: 

• Physical requirements include: standing, walking, lifting, bending, kneeling, shoveling, working equipment, and handling livestock
• Work Environment: Considerable exposure to weather such as: rain, sleet, snow, hail, heat, cold, wind, dust, and daily close proximity to livestock
