Job Description:

The Cattle Clerk is responsible for daily cattle procurement administrative practices at Cactus Feeders, LLC., mainly entering cattle purchase orders, executing contracts and delivery scheduling. This position is located in Amarillo, Texas. 

Duties/Responsibilities:

-Enter new cattle purchase orders into accounting system

-Create and maintain sales contracts for vendors when necessary

-Facilitate scheduling and entry of daily cattle deliveries to multiple cattle feedyards.

-Assist with accounting records and ledgers for pasture cattle locations

-Ensure accuracy of data prior to upload into financial accounting system used for processing payments and adjustments

-Maintain copies of purchase orders and correspondence necessary for files

-Enter yard to yard cattle movement transactions in accounting system

Qualifications:

-Obtained an Associate’s Degree in accounting or a related field (preferred but not required)

-Ability to work under pressure

-Possesses strong customer service skills

-Background in agriculture (preferred but not required)

-Able to work some weekends

-Team player   

-Teachable

Required Skills/Abilities:

-3-5 years verifiable Microsoft Excel experience

-Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related programs

-Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail

-Strong professional phone skills

-Ability to maintain confidential and meticulous records
