Job Description:

Cactus Feeders is actively seeking a Feed Truck Driver/Maintenance Technician to join our Texline Operation team. The Feed Truck Driver responsibilities include providing safe, efficient, and high-quality feed deliveries to the cattle. Maintenance tasks will include upkeep of facility pens and equipment, amongst other projects. A successful candidate for the position will be skilled at adapting to their work environment and working in a fast-paced environment.

Roles and Tasks

  • Delivering correct and timely ration placement
  • Participates in the maintenance and cleanliness of bunks before and after inclement weather
  • Maintains accurate ration records and reporting documentation to the appropriate managers
  • Responsible for the maintenance, cleanliness, and overall operational integrity of equipment used
  • Continual observation of cattle and surroundings to report any issues
  • Helps ensure a continuous supply of fresh water to cattle by performing repairs to the water system and tanks
  • Mows grass/weeds and sweeps bunks by operating tractor/mower; replaces broken cable, clips, or fence; paints or re-paints pens, building, etc.
  • Ensures equipment operation by completing servicing requirements specified by the manager (may include fueling, checking fluid levels, checking filters, greasing, and cleaning equipment)
  • Expected to demonstrate understanding of company policies and adapt to changes in the work environment
  • Exhibit sound and accurate judgment when observing safety and security procedures and reporting potentially unsafe conditions
  • Ability to prioritize work-related tasks and meet scheduling expectations consistently



  • 1 Year of relevant experience – Preferred
  • High School Degree, GED, or technical school education – preferred

Working Conditions / Physical Requirements:

  • Long-term sitting, driving, some lifting, and shoveling
  • Frequently ascends/descends a ladder to access feed truck
  • Constantly works in outdoor weather conditions with exposure to rain, sleet, snow, hail, heat, cold, wind, dust, etc.
