Job Description

This Commodity Buyer will assist in livestock and commodity hedging activities and be responsible for purchasing feed ingredients and managing commodity logistics, including, but not limited to, multiple feed mills in Texas and Kansas. The position will also assist in ticket entry and provide support for additional steps in the commodity procurement process.

 

Location: 

We are currently seeking a Commodity Buyer, for an immediate opening based in our Corporate Headquarters in Amarillo, TX.

Position Reports To:

Director of Commodity Risk Management

Responsibilities:

  • Negotiate terms and purchase assigned ingredients..
  • Provide logistical support for assigned ingredients/feedmills.
  • Commodity contract entry.
  • Check ticket application details for accuracy.
  • Update and distribute various daily internal reports.
  • Update and distribute contract application/status reports for outside vendors.
  • Track, organize, and archive various documents.
  • Update various analytical datasets.
  • Additional duties as assigned.

Preferred skillset for this position includes:

  • 1-3 years of similar experience preferred.
  • Bachelor degree preferred.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
  • Must be willing to work in a team environment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
